The Wishlist Member plug-in for WordPress is an easy solution to creating a membership site within WordPress.

What is Wishlist Member?

Wishlist Member is a plug-in for WordPress blogs that allow you to transform your blog into a membership site. Wishlist Member is probably one of the easiest to use plug-ins I’ve come across in my life. Along with purchasing Wishlist Member, you get instant access to their video library where they offer easy to follow video tutorials on installing and using the plug-in. This plug-in saves you the pain and agony of paying a programmer thousands of dollars to build an entire membership site. It also saves you the hassle of having to spend hours and hours trying to transfer your content from one site to another, along with all of your readers. Within 60 minutes, you can have the plug-in installed, running and watch the members come in.

Who should use Wishlist Member?

Anyone who wants to turn their blog into a membership site should use Wishlist. You do not have to worry about incorporating it into your blog design or tweaking codes, you simply install it and it works exactly with your blog. Other membership plug-ins I’ve seen require you to customize your blog to fit specific files and settings and it just becomes a pain.

Wishlist and 3rd party sites

If you want to charge for membership on your site, Wishlist integrates with all the huge payment processors such as: Paypal, Clickbank and 1shoppingcart. For people who use other or custom payment processors, Wishlist offers a “Generic” option where you are allowed to integrate your custom shopping cart/payment processor into Wishlist. If you offer, or want to offer a mailing list, Wishlist also has a built-in solution for that as well. Wishlist offers you a built-in mailing list tool to send broadcasts to your subscribers. However, if you own your own email auto responder, or want to step up to the next level, Wishlist gives you the ability to do that as well. Wishlist integrates with 3rd party email auto responders such as: Aweber, GetResponse and they also provide the “Generic” option where you integrate with other email auto responders.

Wishlist’s customer support

Good customer support seems hard to find nowadays. The support team at Wishlist is truly amazing. Whenever I had a question or ran into a problem with Wishlist, their support team was right by my side helping me out. I received fast and personal responses. Not the traditional “Check our resources page” they actually take the time to make sure your problem is resolved to your standards.

How easy is Wishlist Member to use?

Even with no knowledge of WordPress or working with plug-ins, Wishlist is something you will have no trouble with. I say this because of their easy to follow video tutorials. They range from installing Wishlist Member, setting it up all the way to integrating 3rd party software in it. There is no need to worry about running from site to site managing details or issues. Everything that you need can be done through your WordPress administration panel by simply clicking the Wishlist tab. From there, everything else is a walk in the park.

Shopping Cart Integration

Using Wishlist, you are allowed to integrate multiple shopping carts into your site to accept payments. You can use services such as: Paypal, 1shoppingcart, Cydec and integrate custom shopping carts if you choose.  The shopping carts work directly with the plug-in so everything is automated. After the member has made the payment, they will automatically be redirected to a page which will allow them to continue with the registration process.

Multiple Membership Levels

Wishlist member allows you to grant different members different access. For example, you run a fitness membership site and you offer three different options: Free, trial and paid membership. All these can be set through a few clicks using Wishlist Member.

Protected Content for Members

Protecting content on our blog and keeping content private for only certain readers can be hard. Wishlist Member gives you the option to select with content you want to be visible to public and visible to selected membership levels only. If someone tries to share member only links, it will redirect any visitors who are not logged in to a “members only page” giving the disclaimer you have to be a member in order to view this content.

Recurring Payments

Offering recurring payments to our members is a great way to rake in an additional income. Some of us require daily, weekly, monthly or even yearly payments for people to gain access to our product, service or membership. Whatever option you decide, with Wishlist you are able to offer recurring payments at your leisure, and any changes you want can be made with a few easy clicks.

Custom Pages

Wishlist Member offers a variety of ways to customize and brand your users experience with custom pages. You can build custom pages for people who have just signed up, people who try to access members only content (great way to capture a new customer). An example of a custom page would be someone who has just signed up for your service, immediately after paying, Wishlist would redirect them to a customized page with what you would like them to do next.

Sneak Preview Content

Wishlist offers a very ingenious option to show excerpts of content and leave the rest hidden for members only. Showing excerpt pieces of content is a great way to build the temptation for people to sign up for your site. A great example of this can be: You run a Photoshop design site and you design a tutorial on “How to create an eCover.” For the first part of the tutorial, you can write out how to design one. For members only, you can give them the ability to grab the PSD, files and see a video walk-through. This option is not only a good way to protect your content for members only, but it’s also a great way to increase sales. These are only some of the great features that come with Wishlist Member. All these features are available simply from your WordPress administration panel and are easy to use.

Wishlist Member is a plugin that allows you to create membership sites with any WordPress blog. That means you can:

• Protect your blog posts (or parts of blog posts) so that only members can see them
• Have different levels of membership–for instance, free members and paid members, or tiers of paid members, or trial members
• Automatically “drip feed” content to new members, so, for instance, when someone signs up, they get access to your Month 1 content, and after 30 days, they automatically get access to Month 2
